Happy 3 Day Race Weekend MACC Racers!

I don’t know about you, but this is always my favorite race weekend. And it is even more exciting this year, because Boyne has given us the green light to race on FIS and Superbowl! They have been taking advantage of this wonderful cold weather and making tons of snow all over the mountain.

Schedule – This year there is a slight change to the weekends schedule, so here is the run down:

  • Friday, February 3: Giant Slalom on North Boyne
  • Saturday, February 4: Slalom on Superbowl
  • Awards in the Snowflake for races 4, 5 & 6 (Jan 22, Feb 3 & Feb 4)
  • Sunday, February 5: Super G on FIS

Weather – will be cold (negatives with windchills) this weekend, especially Friday. Please remember to dress warm, as that falls under the first S in Debi's motto: SAFETY, Style, Speed. We will be watching the weather closely, so keep a look out for last minute updates and changes on our social media:

Lift Tickets – Remember to have your lift ticket on you while racing, as the Mountain Express has fixed RFID scanners. If you leave it in your coat at the top of the hill, you might run into some issues.

Slippers – Course Operations has a lower than usual turnout this weekend. So, if you are willing and available to help, please see Dennis Parrot or check in with the Chief of Course to see how you can assist.

Green Cards – Reminder, we are back to using Green Cards this year. They will be available at the registration table in the lower level of the civic center on Friday and Othmar on Saturday & Sunday. They are required for all work assignments. The only exception to this is Directors and Gate Judges. Gate Judges can submit their gate judge card as evidence of their work assignment.

Registration and Bib Pick-up – Registration will be in the lower level of the Civic center on Friday and back in the Othmar on Saturday & Sunday. Office hours for registration will be from 8:00am to 9:15am and from 11:30am to 12:00pm all three days.

If you haven’t picked up your bib yet, they will be available at the registration table.

Gate Judge Video – Our amazing Director of Course Officials, Jenessa Hilger has created a great new MACC/YouTube video showing what to look for if you are a MACC gate judge.

Stay warm out there!
