What a long strange trip it’s been
We have a jam packed 3-day race weekend, so get ready to race (and race again) to finish off the 2021 COVID Calamity race season that almost wasn’t.
Thanks to our MACC officers, directors, race reps and all MACC racers for your flexibility during a very non-traditional year. Let’s start recruiting new racers for 2022!
Othmar Hours for registration are 8am - 9:15am and 11:30am - noon
If you race all three days, you are required to sign up for two work assignments.
Course 2 is still in need of course workers.
A special invite from Dennis Parrot... JOIN COURSE OPS FOR A DAY!!
Hey all you MACC racers!! Did you ever want to know what those course operations folks do? Well, you can join us and help everyone out... When you aren't racing you can come to the top of the course and check in with the chief of course and join in with course operations!
Slalom and Super Giant Slalom Make-Up Races
Set up for the Cantor Cup as usual on March 7th. This includes one Super G course and one Slalom course utilizing both FIS and Superbowl. Racers would take two runs on the Super G course and one run on the Slalom course.
Both runs on the Super G course will be combined to make-up for the cancelled Super G on February 5th. The single run of Slalom will count as a one-run make up race for the cancelled Slalom on February 6th. Both runs of Super G plus the single run of Slalom will be combined to calculate the Cantor Cup results.
Bonus GS make up race for first cancelled weekend
There will be 2 runs of GS for Saturday March 6th GS race, and a 3rd run to make up for the cancelled GS race on January 9th.
What about my 2021 World Cup Standings?
Since we are not having an awards banquet and do not need to finalize the season’s results by Saturday. We will have time after the season ends to calculate the World Cup and Team standings.
Save the date and mark your calendars:
Virtual Awards Banquet Tuesday, March 16th at 8:00 pm
World Cup results, team awards, most improved racer will be posted on website AFTER the virtual banquet. You will receive log in instructions in a future eNews.
There will be Awards Saturday and Sunday at the base of F.I.S.
After conclusion of the races both days, we will gather to socialize and congratulate one another on receiving awards for their conquest. Not to mention hoisting a few select beverages. Kudos to our clever and creative leadership who figured a way to accomplish this lost ritual due to COVID restrictions.
Boyne will provide a beverage cart for drink purchases.
Looking forward to seeing you all in person this weekend!
