Ann Arbor Mountain Biking: Schedule

There is an active group of mountain bikers in the area that goes out twice a week: Friday evenings and Sunday mornings. The group was originally affiliated with the Ann Arbor Ski Club. Because we ride on trails accessible to anyone, these are not official club activities, and not all riders are ski club members.

Click here for directions to the local rides.

The rides are usually followed by brunch or dinner, if we feel like it. (We usually do.)

Please check the schedule a few days before your ride, and the the weather on the day of the ride. (If it's raining, we won't be there.)

NOTE Changed the first Friday ride to Island Lake (May 3).

The Ann Arbor area has plenty of fun terrain for mountain biking. We have much more of the prized "single track" than many areas of the country, and the "Loop of Pain," completely within the city limits, has some of the most interesting and technical riding around.

The rides cover old hiking trails and new mountain biking trails through local forest areas. Most are in state parks, metro parks, or city park land. The rides are informal — these are not organized activities with leaders or agendas. Some of us ride fast, others ride slow. In general, we wait for everyone to catch up or divide into groups, so don't worry about slowing down the pack.
